wow. It's fairly obvious when I don't post for a month or so that I've been busy.

Ropes is going really well. I like the days we do high ropes better than the days we do lows, but only because I have to think up tons of new stuff every time I do lows. Once I get into a groove, I think it'll go better. Should I already be in a groove? I dunno... it's hard to find a group of activities that I'd want to do with each group that fits the bill for teaching the right teamwork qualities in the right kind of order.

The after-school stuff is going well, too. Running clubs is really beyond what I expected to be doing, but it's cool... I like it.

The biggest difference I've found working for North Attleboro is that I do a lot of things alone. I don't have a lot of help... I just get sent off with a group of kids. It's very different from every other situation where I've worked with kids. I haven't decided whether I like that part of it or not.

tomorrow is the last morning to sleep in... no biggie... I got up in the morning all summer. I can do it

Wednesday, ropes with middle/junior high school kids starts. I am SO looking forward to it. Especially working with Andy and stuff... and the other kick-ass staff. And I get to see just how long a day it's gonna be. And how bad I smell when I get to MSFC.

Also starting to get psyched for Wormfest on Saturday. Woot!

trying to fix the PC today.
attempting to do it without spending any money...
Really afraid I won't be able to restore anything from the old hard drive.

mmm... camp
I went through all the old photo albums at camp today. It was spectacular. I remembered all sorts of groups I worked with that I had forgotten about. And the older pictures brought back memories of being a camper... it was really fun. But I really really miss some of those kids and peers. I wonder what happened to them... unfortunately I didn't think about the fact that I probably could find out, so I didn't even try to figure out how old some of the kids would be nowadays. Hanging around camp all day doing nothing is fun... camp rentals are always fun.

Anyway. Tomorrow, I got nuthin.
Sleep all day. woot

and then my computer crashed and I was forced to dust off the mac...

okay, so actually a lot has happened.
Camp is over. It was great.
Middle School Fun Club is on now, and Ropes/Team-building for area schools starts next week.
Everything in work-land is good.

Money-land is the same.
Still mucho debt, still no chance of getting out of it.
still barely covering the bills I have for utilities and rent.
I have no idea how I manage to stay fed.

and now this computer crap.
I can't afford to fix my computer
this sucks
suck suck suck.

money sucks... still.
Yeah, I'm working more now, but the debt is bigger now.
It does that, it gets bigger. That's how they get you.

other than that, life is pretty good.
Camp is great and I've got some hours lined up for the Fall and Spring.
Dunno how many hours, but some, at least. I should ask about that
tomorrow, so I know whether to find another job for nights or whatever...

If the hours work, I might even be able to work the Woonsocket ASDC.

Camp is freakin' great.
I'll go into it in detail at some point... but lemme sum it up this way:

at orientation Bill said: "we're not going to need all the new staff the first two weeks, so you're not working"
later that day Bill said: "I want you the first week to be a one-on-one counselor"
1st day of camp Bill said: "The camper you were going to be with isn't here, go with the CIT/LIT program"
4th day of camp Bill said: "The CIT/LIT director likes you and wants you to stay there to work with them"
today Bill said: "There are too many LITs. We're going to split them into two groups and you're going to be in charge of one of them"

Woot.
Big Woot.
Wootie McWootWoot.

So, how long has it been since I did an update on the life of John? Y'know what, don't answer that, I don't need to know. I'...
